¹ Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.² The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.³ The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.⁴ Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.⁵ The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.⁶ Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.⁷ And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.⁸ And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.⁹ The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.¹⁰ Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.¹¹ Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?¹² Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.¹³ Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.¹⁴ The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.¹⁵ Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.¹⁶ Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.¹⁷ Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which thy hands have established.¹⁸ The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.¹⁹ For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.²¹ And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.²² So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.²³ And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.²⁴ And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?²⁵ And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,²⁶ And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.²⁷ And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

¹ Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.³ I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.⁴ They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.⁵ O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.⁶ Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.⁷ Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.⁸ I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.⁹ For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.¹⁰ When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.¹¹ I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.¹² They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.¹³ But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.¹⁵ Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.¹⁶ Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.¹⁷ And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.¹⁸ Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.¹⁹ Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.²⁰ Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.²¹ They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.²² Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.²³ Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.²⁴ Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.²⁶ For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.²⁷ Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.²⁹ But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.³⁰ I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.³¹ This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.³² The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.³³ For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.³⁴ Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.³⁵ For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.³⁶ The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

¹ And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.² And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.³ And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.⁴ And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.⁵ And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.⁶ And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.⁷ But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,⁸ And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.⁹ And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.¹⁰ For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.¹¹ And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.¹² And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.¹³ And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.¹⁴ And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,¹⁵ And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:¹⁶ And Simon he surnamed Peter;¹⁷ And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:¹⁸ And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,¹⁹ And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.²⁰ And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.²¹ And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.²² And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.²³ And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?²⁴ And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.²⁵ And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.²⁶ And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.²⁷ No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.²⁸ Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:²⁹ But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.³⁰ Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.³¹ There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.³² And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.³³ And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?³⁴ And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!³⁵ For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
