¹ And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it.² A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.³ And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.⁴ And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.⁵ And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.⁶ And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.⁷ And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.⁸ And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.⁹ Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.¹⁰ And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.¹¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,¹² When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.¹³ This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD.¹⁴ Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.¹⁵ The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.¹⁶ And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.¹⁷ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,¹⁸ Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.¹⁹ For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:²⁰ When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:²¹ So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.²² Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,²³ Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,²⁴ And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:²⁵ And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.²⁶ And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,²⁷ And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense,²⁸ And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.²⁹ And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.³⁰ And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.³¹ And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.³² Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.³³ Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.³⁴ And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:³⁵ And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:³⁶ And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.³⁷ And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.³⁸ Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

¹ His foundation is in the holy mountains.² The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.³ Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.⁴ I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.⁵ And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.⁶ The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.⁷ As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.

¹ O lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:² Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;³ For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.⁴ I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:⁵ Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.⁶ Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.⁷ Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.⁸ Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.⁹ Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.¹⁰ Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.¹¹ Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?¹² Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?¹³ But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.¹⁴ LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?¹⁵ I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.¹⁶ Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.¹⁷ They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.¹⁸ Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.

¹ And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.² And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it.³ And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.⁴ And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.⁵ But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.⁶ Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.⁷ And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.⁸ And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.⁹ But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?¹⁰ For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.¹¹ But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.¹² And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?¹³ And they cried out again, Crucify him.¹⁴ Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.¹⁵ And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.¹⁶ And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.¹⁷ And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,¹⁸ And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!¹⁹ And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.²⁰ And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.²¹ And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.²² And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.²³ And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.²⁴ And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.²⁵ And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.²⁶ And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.²⁷ And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.²⁸ And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.²⁹ And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,³⁰ Save thyself, and come down from the cross.³¹ Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.³² Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.³³ And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?³⁵ And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.³⁶ And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.³⁷ And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.³⁸ And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.³⁹ And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.⁴⁰ There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;⁴¹ (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.⁴² And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,⁴³ Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.⁴⁴ And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.⁴⁵ And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.⁴⁶ And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.⁴⁷ And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.

¹ And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.² And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.³ And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?⁴ And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.⁵ And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.⁶ And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.⁷ But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.⁸ And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.⁹ Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.¹⁰ And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.¹¹ And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.¹² After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.¹³ And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.¹⁴ Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.¹⁵ And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.¹⁶ He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.¹⁷ And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;¹⁸ They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.¹⁹ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.²⁰ And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.
