¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.³ Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.⁴ These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.⁵ In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD's passover.⁶ And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.⁷ In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.⁸ But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.⁹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,¹⁰ Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:¹¹ And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.¹² And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.¹³ And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.¹⁴ And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.¹⁵ And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:¹⁶ Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.¹⁷ Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.¹⁸ And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.¹⁹ Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.²⁰ And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.²¹ And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.²² And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.²³ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,²⁴ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.²⁵ Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.²⁶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,²⁷ Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.²⁸ And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.²⁹ For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.³⁰ And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.³¹ Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.³² It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.³³ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,³⁴ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.³⁵ On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.³⁶ Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.³⁷ These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:³⁸ Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.³⁹ Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.⁴⁰ And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.⁴¹ And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.⁴² Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:⁴³ That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.⁴⁴ And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.

¹ Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.² For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.³ Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.⁴ Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.⁵ The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.⁶ Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

¹ Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:² Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.³ The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.⁴ The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.⁵ Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.⁶ Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:⁷ Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.⁸ Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

¹ Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.² Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.³ If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?⁴ But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.⁵ I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.⁶ My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.⁷ Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.⁸ And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

¹ And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.² And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?³ And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;⁴ How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?⁵ And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.⁶ And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.⁷ And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.⁸ But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.⁹ Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?¹⁰ And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.¹¹ And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.¹² And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.¹³ And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;¹⁴ Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,¹⁵ Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,¹⁶ And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.¹⁷ And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;¹⁸ And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.¹⁹ And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.²⁰ And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.²¹ Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.²² Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.²³ Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.²⁴ But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.²⁵ Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.²⁶ Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.²⁷ But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,²⁸ Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.²⁹ And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.³⁰ Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.³¹ And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.³² For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.³³ And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.³⁴ And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.³⁵ But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.³⁶ Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.³⁷ Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:³⁸ Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.³⁹ And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?⁴⁰ The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.⁴¹ And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?⁴² Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.⁴³ For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.⁴⁴ For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.⁴⁶ And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?⁴⁷ Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:⁴⁸ He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.⁴⁹ But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
